Motivation / Determination
Many jobs are very good at motivating you in a variety of ways. Some are good at motivating you to do more and become more (be all you can be in the Army?), others are good at wanting you to further your education (for example). My job, however, is the only job I've had that has given me so much motivation..... to leave.I returned from my fantastic, fabulous, wonderful and amazing 3 week holiday to find that my boss had un-done loads of my hard work. The biggest one of all is that he has changed a load of my management decisions. These were important decisions that I had made and were based on much thought, planning and best-course-of-action-for-long-term-gain-strategies. The knock on effect of this is that he has undermined my authority to all of my staff and has put some of our new staff into a position of feeling unwanted.
So. How can I effectively manage, if my boss continually undermines my authority everytime I'm out of the office? The answer? I can't.
So on to determination. I am now, more then ever, determined and motivated to get the hell out of this god-for-saken job.
not bad for the first day back after holidays.
