Time goes by so slowly
One thing I've found about a job that gives you nothing but endless amounts of time on your hands... is you really have to work doubly hard to look busy. I mean, I have 3 staff members (on this site) that have work to do, and things to be getting on with, but if they see me with my feet on my desk in a state of perpetual snoring.... they might just loose their motivation.I spent a little bit of time the other week (looking busy) trying to figure out how much work was actually required to do my job... it turns out, that on an average week, a one handed, blind monkey could do my job in about 2 to 2 1/2 days per week. This is certainly not a full time job. Well, at least not for a two handed, glasses wearing homosapian.
So you really have to work hard to find things to pass the time. Typing this for example with a serious look on my face makes everyone in the office think that I am working on a project brief, or maybe a serious email to another staff member. Especially when I have another document open that I wrote weeks ago that I can just switch to.
Another way is to sit and watch pimp my ride videos on MyCarVideos.com. Of course I've also discovered the curse that is YouTube...
But all this mindless surfing and trying to look busy has led me to my latest project... I've been reading a lot of this website: http://www.wizdforums.co.uk/index.php Its all about people creating insane computer cases. and since I have a fair few computers at home (3 in the garage, 4 in the house), I thought I would create my own custom case. So for those of you interested, I'll post a link to my work log once I have it setup. that and it gives me something else to do at work....
