If you're looking for someone / To pull you out of that ditch / You're out of luck, you're out of luck
Apparently, they say that today is the worst day of the year. People feel lower today than any other day of the year. We have such uplifting news here in the UK....But to make matters worse, last Thursday was meant to be the day that people feel the poorest all year. So not only do you feel shit, but your to broke to go drown your sorrows 'down the pub'. rubbish.
However... Last Thursday, not only did the Mrs' get a raise, but I also got a phone call from an agency about a job. Which was really surprising! I mean I apply for so many damn jobs, that to get called about one sent me for such a loop, it took me a minute to figure out which job he was actually talking about! not really the best of starts for an agency phone call... usually when you get a phone call from an agency about a job, you have to go right into sell-yourself-mode. Not so much this time for me. the first few minutes were spent either trying to get out of my office so no one could hear, and then trying to figure out what he was on about... after that, I got lucky. I didn't really have to do much selling, as I barely got a word in edge wise. I think he was just so damn happy to find someone halfway decent to fill the roll. he went on like a broken record and I didn't get to say much at all. really all I cared about was whether or not I was going to get an interview, at least then I might get to sell myself.
however... the managers met on friday to discuss the applicants and the agency will get back to me as soon as they hear something. I'm at least hoping its before my birthday.... (april for those that don't know).
this brings me back to my original point (I get around eventually) about bad days. I didn't hear anything today about the job. I'm hoping tomorrow will be better. the mere sniff of a potential job has made me realise just how much I hate my current job. and its making actually going to work a real trial.
and then my second point... the job is also a load more money. But I didn't hear anything... so I skipped out of work early. ok, so it was half way through the day....
